1917 Gibson A-1 Mandolin
In good condition. In the 1960’s a previous owner had the neck and the headstock refinished and the headstock logo was replaced with a 1960’s Gibson logo. The top also appears to have been top coated at some point. The back and sides appear to be original. The serial number is faint, but we make it out to be 386512. There are no breaks, cracks or repairs. There are a few chips to the back of the neck. The neck is straight, and the frets show moderate wear but still have plenty of life left. Plays well up and down the neck with no fret buzzing. The tail piece appears to be a newer replacement, but the tail piece cover appears to be original. It has been fitted with an adjustable bridge. Includes the original Gibson hardshell case as pictured.
